Born and educated in the US, artist Rosemary Marchetta has traveled extensively and spent many years living abroad. She has participated in multiple solo and collective exhibitions and has won several awards for her work. She currently lives and works in Providence, Rhode Island.
Marchetta's creative process involves constant experimentation with new materials, and the qualities of the material itself are often intrinsic to the meaning of the piece. Recent work includes thoughtful and thought provoking pieces on a variety of themes including art marketing, the original vs. reproduction debate, or subliminal messages in interpersonal communication.
